The Roman oil lamp with a rodent mouse

Inside the Archaeological Museum of the Civic Mining District of Rio Elba there is a terracotta lamp found in the waters of Porto Azzurro and dating back to the mid-1st - 2nd century AD. It presents an interesting and widespread iconography in this period on coins, gems, sculptural reliefs, bronzes, terracotta, mosaics and oil lamps.
