Park visitors’ centres

The Park visitors’ centres are the environmental education centres of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, the ideal starting-points for discovering the extraordinary beauties of the whole archipelago.

The Tuscan Archipelago National Park, established in 1996, covers over 18,000 hectares on land and 60,000 hectares on sea, and seven islands, Elba, Gorgona, Capraia, Pianosa, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri, plus all their small associated islands.

Included in the international Pelagos Project, the “Whale and Dolphin Sanctuary” is responsible for the conservation and protection of the Archipelago’s environment, flora andfauna.

The Park Visitors’ Centres are Environmental Education Centres, places where people can meet the Park, learn about leading personalities, examples of environmental excellence and the history of the landscape, and take part in projects, excursions and study days organised by the Park Authority.
